Fundraising in Atlanta on the 14th
Press conference and dinner event with donors scheduled
Andy Kim, a Democratic member of the New Jersey House of Representatives who is running for a U.S. Senate seat, will visit Atlanta on the 14th to hold an Atlanta-area fundraiser.
Congressman Andy Kim will have dinner with major donors who have donated up to $3,300 per person at a home in Duluth at 5 p.m. and will hold a press conference at the Korean Community Center at 4:30 p.m. before the dinner.
“The reason I, as a Republican, support Andy Kim is to take advantage of this God-given opportunity to solidify the axis of Korean-Americans in the U.S. through our children,” said fundraising host Sunny Park, the chairman of the Good Neighboring Campaign, which is leading the group. “No matter how much we support him, if there is no excellent second-generation candidate who can win, it will be a long time before he can advance to the Senate, even for the next several decades. I hope that we can do our best to help Andy Kim so that he can achieve the immigrants’ dream that we have so desperately hoped for.”
Andy Kim’s sponsorship is moving toward a goal of 80 people, and Mr. Park said “About 14 people participating in Atlanta area.
Mr. Park asked for cooperation from Koreans, saying, “If about 50 people help out with $150,000, senate candidate Andy Kim will be happier, and it will be a great encouragement to the campaigning headquarter.”
